Purpose:

Purpose of the report: To present information about the Central bus interchange scheme - a reconstruction of the existing Rougier Street interchange financed by the Better Bus Area Fund programme. The report will summarise responses from the consultation exercise about the interchange and will present information on construction costs, timescales and key risks in the form of the project plan.

The Cabinet Member will be asked to approve construction of the interchange to the specification laid out in the report.

Resolved:           That the Cabinet Member:

 

(i)           Approved the implementation of the proposed bus stop improvements as shown in Annex A with any minor final amendments.

 

(ii)          Noted that discussions are continuing with Skelwith, the property developers for Roman House, on the design of the shelter.

 

Reason:              To improve facilities for bus passengers and improve the Rougier Street area.
