Purpose:

Purpose of Report: The report highlights progress made in establishing a Steering Group to drive forward financial inclusion policy and actions as agreed by Cabinet in November 2012. The report also notes the decision of the Financial Inclusion Steering Group to allocate £80k funding to the CAB as the council’s contribution to their successful bid to the Big Lottery Advice Service Transition Fund.

 

Members are asked to note the progress made in establishing a city-wide framework for improving the financial wellbeing of York’s residents and to note the successful application to the Big Lottery Funded Advice Service Transition Project.

Decision:

RESOLVED:       That Cabinet note the progress made in establishing a city-wide framework for improving the financial wellbeing of York’s residents and the successful application to the Big Lottery Funded Advice Service Transition Project.

REASON:           To update Cabinet on progress made in gaining financial inclusion for resident’s across the city.
