Decision details

Purpose of report: The report will provide an update on the Expression of Interest and the Bid process for the scheme. It will also consider the financial implications arising from this. Agreeing with officer recommendations will allow the scheme to continue to have the opportunity of substantial government funding. The funding decision will be known by late 2011 and if successful the approved works could be complete and operational by summer 2014.

The Executive Member is asked to:  Approve to continue with the Bid process and to set up a suitable budget for this purpose in the remainder of 2011/12. It will also provide an estimate of costs for 2011/12.

RESOLVED:             That the Executive Member for City Strategy agrees to:

i)        Approve the proposals for the preparation and submission of the Best and Final Funding Bid as set out in paragraphs 16 to 19 of the report.

ii)Approve a revised budget for the Access York Phase 1 scheme in 2010/11 as proposed in paragraphs 22 to 24 of the report.

REASON:                  To ensure that the Access York Phase 1 project continues to progress satisfactorily and to maximise the potential for DfT funding.
