Purpose:

Purpose of report: The report asks Members to approve the final LAA targets that have not been formally agreed between York and central government. These indicators all relate to the economy, their agreement has been delayed due to the need to assess the impact of the economic recession.

The LAA has to be formally approved by City of York Council in order to comply with central government requirements.

Members are asked to: To seek the approval of the remaining economic indicators in the LAA in order to finalise the agreement between York and central government.

Decision:

RECOMMENDED:That Council approve the refreshed Local Area Agreement presented at Annex A to the report, for endorsement by Without Walls on 11 February 2010 prior to submission to central government.

 

REASON:                  In order to meet the statutory requirement to refresh the LAA and meet central government guidelines.
