Purpose of report: To consider the implications to the Council of the introduction of the new powers under "The Housing (Empty Dwelling Managemetn Orders) (Prescribed Exceptions and REquirements) (England) Order 2006'. This will affect owners of empty properties. Timescale to be agreed.

Members are asked to: Consider the implications for bringing empty properties back into use.

Advice of the Advisory Panel

 

That the Executive Member be advised to approve:

 

Option One of this report, to maintain the current level of empty homes work and the resources attached to it.

RESOLVED: That the advice of the Advisory Panel be accepted and endorsed.

 

REASON:      With the low level of empty homes within the city the current approach provides value for money.
