York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Description

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee holds the Combined Authority and Mayor to account for all decisions taken, including devolved powers and funding. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee has the authority to review and scrutinise any decision made, or action taken by the Combined Authority or Mayor. The Committee can, at their discretion, produce reports and make recommendations for change or improvements. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee is responsible for checking that the Combined Authority is delivering its objectives, and that policies, strategies and plans are made in the best interests of residents and workers in York and North Yorkshire. They provide independent scrutiny of initiatives, activities and public consultation on draft strategies.
