Finance Comments
The total voluntary redundancy payment is £57k of which £18k has already been incurred in 12/13. In addition, there will be a total of £39k of redundancy-related pension costs spread over 5 years. The expected remaining £60k budget reduction of the £250k target will be allocated against non-staffing costs in the service.

HR Comments
Libraries and Archive staff and unions have been consulted and communicated with on a regular basis at meetings and by written correspondence. The implementation of the new structure has been in accordance with City of York Council Supporting Transformation (Management of Change) Policies and Procedures. As a result of approving voluntary redundancies and vacant posts remaining unfilled during the restructure compulsory redundancy has successfully been avoided.
