Removal of 26no. BT Payphones at various locations across the City of York area

Purpose of Report: BT are proposing to remove 26no. public payphones across the York area. The process for this includes a public consultation which includes, and is partly administered by, the relevant local authority. The purpose of this report is to consider each request individually reporting any local consultation responses received with a view to the Local Authority making a formal response to each application.

The Executive Member is asked to consider whether the Local Authority object or not to the removal of individual payphones.

BT have placed site notices on each payphone. The Local Authority have consulted each local Parish Council by letter. Consultees: The Local Authority, Local Parish Councils or Planning panels. The public by way of site notice.
