Delivery of Community Facilities at the Burnholme Health & Wellbeing Campus

Purpose of Report: To consider the new community facilities at the Burnholme Health and Wellbeing campus following on from examination of the future of this school site by Executive in October 2015.

 

The Executive are asked to consider the investment in the new community facilities.

 

This item has been deferred until 19May Executive.

 

Officers will continue to progress Department of Education approval for change of use of the Burnholme Community College site but until this consent is in train/approved it is not thought prudent to progress with consent to move forward with the delivery of community facilities at Burnholme.

Consultation process

Public consultation on the future uses of the Burnholme school site was carried out in the winter and spring of 2014.
Further consultation with users and local residents will be undertaken regarding the design of the community facilities prior to the submission of a planning application.
Public consultation will also be undertaken on the other uses of the site and how the space can be best utilised.
