Badger Hill Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
We the undersigned petition the council to: Implement an Article 4 Direction to remove Permitted Development rights to expand Class C4 HMOs in Badger Hill and other residential areas close to the University of York. This is required as an increasing number of HMOs are being enlarged with neither local residents nor the planning system being able to consider the impact of: Littering and the accumulation of rubbish; Noises between dwellings especially at night; increased parking problems and less commitment to maintain the quality of the local environment. These are all issues recognised by City of York Council as having a significant impact on the amenity of local residents.
