BSIP Project update.

 

3.1

JM provided verbal update on BSIP dashboard. DH to attach to email.

ADA suggested looking at Traffic controls on Fulford road corridor.

 

3.3

TH explained that there has been no further update or progress on hull road corridor due to not having major benefit for buses. Also explained CYC have draft concept designs that are in process of being signed off by DFT and when CYC have confidence the schemes are deliverable all information will be shared with group.

Cllr KR explained that CYC are being strategic on what can be delivered now as these will also have to integrate with Movement and place plan.

TH has stated that main corridors study will be shared with group and attached to email.

AMG has explained that due to the forum not having a specific timeline can be difficult to see progress, has recommended maybe a Major scheme session in the new year.

RH has provided update on  bus stop infrastructure. 30 bus stops have been identified as not accessible therefore CYC are working to improve these, 7 have been completed so far. 50 battery real time screen have been ordered for the city and will be delivered by the end of March.  RH to gather a list of all named locations for bus stop improvements and send them out to EP forum group.

TH has confirmed CYC will be completing route audits to look at small scale infrastructure measures that can be put into place. Route 11 is going to benefit from some small scale measures. Also review is taking place on all unmarked stops throughout the city.

ADA suggested improvements to be made within enhanced partnership, potential for website? TH has explained that Brightsparks are in process of completing a review of the Itravel website and when recommendations are shared for this would be happy to share with group.

DM asked if the BSIP3 submission could be circulated amongst the group. TH has confirmed he is happy for this to be circulated. DH to circulate BSIP3 submission.

Park and ride site improvements

 

4.1

TH provided verbal explanation on P&R Upgrades PowerPoint. DH to circulate PowerPoint.

AMG asked if coaches were involved in the P&R upgrades, TH and AMG to discuss this offline.

GW gave feedback on the recent P&R Leaflets that had been posted through door and was very impressed with them. Also explained that York college students are still using the Askham bar park and ride for parking vehicles. TH has explained that the rules are currently been enforced but will be remind First to make sure reports are made.

Cllr SF suggested CYC officers to discuss with ward councillors in the local areas regarding the park and ride site upgrades to see if there is anything that could be prioritised in that local area. TH has agreed this will be helpful with plans and will reach out in future.

 

4.5

NM asked if the PowerPoint can be presented to the York bus forum, Also asked if there was going to sufficient space for other services to use the site. TH has confirmed that CYC are currently looking at alignment of the sites and how other services will use the sites. NM also asked if catering will be available on site. TH has confirmed this is something CYC are looking into but no decision has been made as of yet.

RM expressed that taking a strategic look at coaches with the park and ride sites is a great idea.

ADA asked if park and ride sites will have enough capacity for work to be completed on all the sites at the same time TH has confirmed this will all be planned out within the project implementation. ADA also suggested discussing with hospitality about setting reasonable rates for overnight parking. Th has confirmed CYC will look into doing this.

 

4.8

FW would like Monks cross park and ride footpaths to be improved for disabled passengers. TH will specifically highlight this in plans.

 

5.0

Review ODG minutes from October

 

5.1

Verbal update was provided on ODG minutes.

 

5.2

DM has asked for update on fare cap and all York ticket prices, SFR has confirmed operators have until Monday 16th December to confirm confidentially what there fares will be from January and All York ticket prices will be recalculated accordingly.

 

6.0

Car park pricing and opportunities for increasing bus patronage.

 

6.1

Cllr KR provided update on public consultation and would like all to get look at consultation regarding car parking charges in York. CYC are consulting on increasing the price of car parking

 

7.0

Task and Finish group update

 

7.1

Cllr KR provided update on Task and finish group, currently CYC have a tracker of all issues that have been identified by members of the group. Officers are now going to review list with bus operators and provide a list of potential mitigations for these and the task and finish group will reconvene in February. T&F update will be kept on the Forum agenda so can be reviewed as well as Access refusals.

CT provided update on Transdev taking over all reliance services from 18th January 2025 there should be no changes to services/routes.
