Minutes of the socially-distanced meeting of Murton Parish Council held on Wednesday, 12 January 2022 at St James’s Church, Murton

22/01 Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Richardson
22/02 No declarations of interest were made
22/03 The Minutes of the meeting held on 10 November 2021 were confirmed and signed as a true and correct record
22/04 Ongoing Issues and action 22.04.1 The Neighbourhood Plan Working Party report was circulated giving details of the work undertaken in November and December. Analysis of replies from consultation gave 80 points to address. A table has been completed to show what action is proposed to meet these comments and how it will affect the main Submission Report. The clerk is to proof-read the documents
22.04.2 There were no incidents reported to the Police in December
22.04.3 The clerk had arranged to meet with Stoneplan regarding a concrete base for the new seat at the pond. Cllr Clancey volunteered to provide new fencing once this work was completed. It was agreed that a new planter near the seat would enhance the pond surround
22.04.4 The Murton Way footpath had been cleared of debris following hedge cutting and the overgrown grass cut back to the original width by 2 dedicated public spirited residents, Messrs J Anderson and A Kettlestring. The Parish Council expressed their grateful thanks for this voluntary work
22.04.5 A discussion took place regarding HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. Various ideas were put forward and it was decided see if it was possible to move the date of the annual village BBQ to Saturday, 4 June and use this occasion to mark the celebration
22.04.6 The Precept amount for 2022/23 was agreed at £2500.00
22.04.7 Ward Cllr Warters advised that Osbaldwick Cub Scouts would be able to plant wildflower bulbs on the Moor Lane verge for the Jubilee. The clerk was to obtain appropriate bulbs
22.04.08 Cllr Kettlestring advised that he would arrange a litter pick around the village for Saturday, 27 February
22/05 The following Planning Applications were considered:
22.05.01 Application 21/01922/FUL for the conversion of a stable block to a dwelling at The Homestead was objected to
22/05.02 Application 21/02443/FUL for retrospective use of 323 Hull Road as a HMO was objected to
22/06 There was one Planning Decisions from CYC to report – removal of tree at rear of Church View approved
22/07 Financial Matters:
22.07.1 It was agreed to pay the Clerk £50.84 for printer inks
22.07.2 It was agreed to pay CPRE £36.00 as a membership gift
22/08 The date of the next meeting was confirmed as Wednesday, 9 February 2022
