Minutes of the meeting of Murton Parish Council held on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 at St James’s Church, Murton. Present: Cllrs I Waddington (Chair), D Harriman, R Clancey, R Kettlestring, D Wells, A McFarlane (Clerk), Ward Cllrs M Warters and M Rowley
22/25 No Apologies for absence were received
22/26 No declarations of interest were made
22/27 The Minutes of the meeting held on 9 March 2022 were confirmed and signed as a true and correct record
22/28 Ongoing Issues and action 22.28.1 The Neighbourhood Plan (400 pages) had been sent to City of York Council for approval. The two websites had been updated and it was agreed that monthly reports from the working party were no longer needed
22.28.2 It was agreed that a 3-course lunch costing £12.50 pp to raise funds in aid of the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal would be organised by the Events sub-committee on May 21st
22.28.3 There were no reported incidents on the March Police report, however activity by armed Police had been seen in the church graveyard
22.28.4 The Chair and clerk, together with Prof Waddington, met with the Museum of Farming and DVLR to discuss any plans to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth. There was to be a programme of events at Murton Park, which the Parish Council offered to help publicise, but individuals in the village were to organise parties etc. if they wished to
22.28.5 City of York Council engineers had met with Dr D Jenkins to discuss various flood/surface water issues as he possessed old plans showing drains. He was able to explain how some of the problems have arisen and CYC have agreed to attempt to remedy the situation when possible
22.28.6 The clerk informed councillors of new grass cutting charges from the contractor which had increased. It was agreed to accept the charges
22.28.7 The bus shelter on the village green was in need of painting and Mr A Kettlestring had volunteered his services to do the work
22.28.8 There was no update to report on The Murton Arms
22.28.9 Cllr Warters advised that City of York Council were to make a decision on the Tranby Avenue car parking situation on 19 April
22/29 There were no Planning Applications to consider
22/30 There were no Planning Decision from CYC to report
22/31 Financial Matters:
22.31.1 It was agreed to pay YLCA £221.00 for annual membership
22.31.2 It was agreed to pay Mrs D Wells £71.99 for website domain renewal
22.31.3 It was agreed to pay Stoneplan £258.88 for salt bin storage/removal
22.31.4 It was agreed to pay Vertigro £21.20 for assorted plants
22/32 The date of the next meeting was confirmed as Wednesday, 11 May 2022
