Purpose of Report: The report will provide an overview of the current position regarding the cost of living crisis locally in York for:

Residents
Businesses
Council Budget, Workforce and Services
Impact on partners such as Health and the Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector

The report will focus upon local plans, programmes being undertaken and key activities to tackle the impacts of the crisis. It will also include an update from the York Cost of Living Summit 2022.

The Executive will be asked to note the report.

The Cost of Living Crisis impacts have been discussed by Corporate Management Team and will be discussed at the York Cost of Living Summit to be held on 31 October 2022 with partners and stakeholders across all sectors in the city.

Equality Impact Assessment Completed?: No decisions are required regarding this report although Executive will be asked to note that communities with protected characteristics under the Equality Act are likely to be more adversely affected by the cost of living crisis.
