Walmgate Improvement Scheme

Purpose of Report: This report updates Executive Members on the development of a programme of South Walmgate Masterplan projects alongside the redevelopment of the Willow House site. Funding has been allocated through the Neighbourhood Improvement Programme and from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority to implement a first phase of activities.

The Executive Members will be asked to:

i.      To approve the final version of the South Walmgate Masterplan.

ii.    To agree to implement a first phase of project.

iii.   To delegate to the Director of City Development in consultation with the Director of Housing and Communities, the relevant Executive Members, Director of Finance and the Director of Governance, to procure the design and construction contractors needed, in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations.

Reason: To allow the development and implementation of a first phase of the South Walmgate Masterplan.
