PLUS: The official
opening of the refurbished Elvington play area.
Minutes:
Bishopthorpe and Wheldrake ward committee held
an informal surgery focussed on young people at Elvington Sports
Club. Residents were able to:
- Speak directly to their local
councillors, their Street Environment Officer and their
Neighbourhood Management Officer.
- Speak to representatives from their
Safer Neighbourhood Team and give their opinion on what the police
priorities should be for the ward.
- Find out more about library services
in their area and how to be involved in the Quest Seekers summer
reading challenge.
- Have a look around the Urbie bus and
speak to the youth workers for the ward.
- See the official opening of
Elvington play area and be the first to play on the new
equipment.
- Learn about Roman Cookery through a
demonstration by the Yorkshire Museum and taste some Roman Style
Food.
- Find out more about the Local
Development Framework.
- Submit scheme proposals for the
2010/11 ward committee budget.
