He raised concerns regarding a letter from Ian Yapp, Chief Education Officer of the STAR Multi-Academy Trust and suggested some changes to the wording and layout of the planned survey. During the meeting, it was confirmed that that letter had been responded to and that changes had been made to the survey.

Free Discretionary Transport to Tadcaster Grammar School (10:06) PDF 278 KB The Executive Member for Children and Young People is asked to approve the start of a public consultation process for the proposed phased removal of free discretionary transport to Tadcaster Grammar School. Decision: Resolved:
i. The Executive Member approved a consultation process for phased removal of free discretionary transport to Tadcaster Grammar School to achieve previously agreed savings. Feedback from the consultation will be brought back to the Executive Member for a final decision on removal of discretionary transport to Tadcaster Grammar School.
Reason: In order to achieve agreed savings targets, whilst ensuring that parents are able that to make an informed choice about school places from the year prior to admission to secondary school. Minutes: The Head of Education Support Service presented the report. She stated that this item was concerning a legacy provision of free transport to a non-York school, and that it did not affect SEND eligibility or pupils who already received this service. The Chair noted the savings required due to austerity cuts in council budgets and agreed with the recommendation to approve the start of a public consultation process.
The Executive Member then;
Resolved: That a consultation process for phased removal of free discretionary transport to Tadcaster Grammar School be approved to achieve previously agreed savings. Feedback from the consultation will be brought back to the Executive Member for a final decision on removal of discretionary transport to Tadcaster Grammar School.
