Purpose:

Purpose of report: To inform members of a successful funding bid (in partnership with North Yorkshire) to provide an internet consumer crime enforcement facility for the whole of England and Wales for 2012-15.

The Cabinet Member is asked to note the report and agree to an expansion of the regional trading standards Scambuster Team (currently employed by City of York) to undertake the work.

This item has slipped from the February meeting to the March meeting due to the grants contracts being delayed.

Decision:

RESOLVED:       (i)      That the report be noted.

 

(ii)      That Option A, as set out in Paragraph 14 of the report be adopted.

 

REASON:                     To support the establishment of a grant funded trading standards E-Crime investigative facility in York.
