Consultation process
The landowner has submitted comments objecting
to the proposal based on the application route being a private farm
track accessed only by farm machinery that the public have not had
unrestricted access to. A nearby landowner has also submitted
comments stating concerns regarding privacy, safety, and crime and
that the public have not had use of this route without
restrictions.
Several residents of Askham Richard have submitted comments in
support of the application as a safer, easier route to walk to
Askham Bryan.
Askham Bryan Parish Council have responded supporting the
application as a convenient through route to Askham Richard and
have submitted user evidence statements.
The British Horse Society responded to the proposal submitting
evidence supporting higher rights than footpath status for Buttacre
Lane.
