High Speed Rail College Bid Submission
On 7th March 2014, Government launched a
consultation on possible locations for the main site of a new High
Speed Rail College, to concentrate on designing and delivering the
high level skills needed for high speed rail and other major
engineering projects of the future including High Speed 2
(HS2).
Purpose of Report: To outline the York bid and seek authorisation to submit the bid on behalf of the authority.
Cabinet is asked to delegate authority for the finalisation and
submission of a bid for the High Speed Rail College to
Officers.
The reason this item has been urgently considered at the 23 April Cabinet is to allow the bid to be submitted before 30 April 2014.
