The drop-in surgery gives you the opportunity to talk to your councillors, street environment officer, safer neighbourhood team, neighbourhood management officer and visiting speakers in an informal setting.

6.30pm – Drop in Surgery

1.1   Residents had the opportunity to talk informally to Councillor’s Galvin and Barton, Suzanne Prance, Street Environment Officer, PCSO Colin Martin, Sally Barker Neighbourhood Management Officer, Treemendous, York Explore, and Street Sport had information stands for the residents.

7.00pm – Main Meeting

Cllr Galvin and Barton welcomed residents to the meeting.

The minutes of the last meeting were agreed and signed.

Your local police team will give an update on issues in your ward and answer any questions you have.

PCSO Colin Martin gave the residents a crime update.

Bishopthorpe had a 8% decrease in Burglary

Wheldrake had a 10% increase in Burglary

A Question was asked about whether it was correct that the local response team are getting two extra recruits.

Answer: Not aware of this.

City of York Council Street Environment Officer Suzanne Prance will introduce the Love Where You Live campaign.

An update will be given on the progress of this year’s schemes. Following that, the suggested schemes for 2012-13 will be discussed. If you made one of the suggestions on the ballot list, come along to tell people more about it.

Local Improvement Schemes

Residents were given the opportunity to raise any questions about the schemes and get further information about them.

Representatives from York Wheels, Street Sport and Wheldrake Youth club and Wheldrake Parish Council gave further information about their schemes.

Is the full amount of funds asked for always paid.

Answer: Cllr Galvin answered that this was not always the case.

In the general elections a lady who has two children who are away at University what is to stop them having two votes.

Answer: Honesty.
