Decision:
Retrospective approval of initial grant of
£28,049.50 and grant extension of £23,471.24 to
Citizens Advice York to fund posts to continue the work and
development of Our City Hub
This decision reflects the original grant for the period 1st July
2024 to 31st December for an additional 7 months, from January 1,
2025, to July 31, 2025. The delay is due to the original decision
not being recorded in error, and in determining the appropriate
mechanism for granting this extension. The original grant payment
was subject to an appropriate grant agreement, and this will be the
case going forward.
The expenditure approval for 25/26 year is here:

and previously here:
https://democracy.york.gov.uk/documents/s166037/Homes%20for%20Ukraine%20Budget%20Executive%2016%20March%20Final%20LW.pdf
The grant, funded by the government’s Homes for Ukraine
initiative, enables Citizens Advice York (CAY) to cover training,
administrative costs, and salaries. This was previously provided by
Explore York. The need for this service has not diminished
throughout the period of funding.
This extension will also allow for a comprehensive evaluation of
the Our City Hub project and facilitate the development of
sustainable funding solutions to ensure the project’s
continuity. Additionally, it will help establish long-term
strategies to guarantee that migrants receive appropriate support
from the most suitable service providers.
