Tennis improvement funds for Fulford School

The Germany Beck development provided significant S106 sums for improvements and development of sport and recreation in the surrounding location. Works to improve the MUGA courts at Fulford school would enable greater usage by the local tennis and netball users as well as improve facilities for the children at the school.
A budget of £30,000 was agreed to clean and improve the courts up to tennis competition standard.
The final invoice for the works (completed in Summer 2024) is £29,080.90

Approval to grant this sum, net of VAT, to the school is sought.

Alternative options were to build additional courts on the Parish field next to Fulford Tennis Club. This was discounted after public consultation in 2022 raised significant objection to the removal of open green space.

The works at Fulford School were the only viable alternative in the area and at a much lesser cost.
