Purpose of the report: This report provides information about the current position with regard to vacancies for LA seats on governing bodies, lists current nominations for those vacancies and requests the appointment, or reappointment, of the listed nominees. The effect of making these appointments will be greater effectiveness and efficiency of school governing bodies in discharging their statutory duties. Effects will be seen immediately after appointment as nominees take up their governor roles.
The Cabinet Member is asked to approve the appointment of the individuals nominated by head of service.

RESOLVED:       That the Cabinet Member appoint or re-appoint, Local Authority Governors to fill vacant places as proposed in Annex 1.

REASON:            To ensure that Local Authority places on school governing bodies continue to be effectively filled
