Ward Budget City Wide Fund Grant Awards

A Ward Budget City Wide Fund of £100,000 was established in 2023 to support organisations working across the whole city or in multiple ward areas. This fund compliments the ward funding allocated at individual ward level and offers the opportunity for groups and organisations working across the city to apply once to a central fund rather than apply to individual wards.
In total 17 applications for funding were received for the current round of funding. The total amount applied for was £114,824. Three applications were deferred to a future funding round. £50,000 is the total funding available through this round and the recommendations are to award £46,875 across a total of 7 projects.

The option not to approve is rejected as this funding is being directed to support delivery of activity contributing to the 4 funding priorities of:

• Health and wellbeing
• Tackling the cost-of-living crisis
• Environment and Climate Emergency
• Equality of opportunity

These priorities link directly to One City, for all the Council plan 2023 – 2027 https://www.york.gov.uk/downloads/file/9262/council-plan-2023-to-2027
