Purpose of the report: To set out options
available to procure a new contract for the maintenance of street
lighting.
The Cabinet Member is asked to give approval to proceed with the
recommended option.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member approved
(i) Approved option 3 of the report by taking the street lighting service in-house.
(ii)Cancel the night scouting operations and rely on public reporting.
REASONS FOR THE DECISION
The delivery of the benefits of option3 for the service will be achieved by the Council managing the potential risks of an increase in faults and third party liabilities.
