This work builds on the work of the York Poverty Truth Commission which launched in March 2023. A Poverty Truth Commission begins by putting those with direct experience of poverty first and asking them to share their knowledge about what’s truly needed to make change. York CVS have the experience needed to extend this work ands deliver a Children’s Poverty Truth Commission and the grant award is to ensure that this work can take place. The findings will support the city’s delivery of the poverty strategy.

Comments/Observations: This grant is awarded to York CVS due to their previous work on the delivery of the Poverty Truth Commission in York. The grant supports the extension of this work to capture the experiences of children and young people living in poverty in the city.
