Better Bus Areas

Purpose of the report: To highlight forthcoming changes to the funding and administrative arrangements for local bus services by the Department for Transport. Details of the new round of "Better Bus Area" funding (BBAF) will be outlined. Subsequent to this, the report will detail City of York Council's proposed approach, working in partnership with bus operators and with neighbouring local authorities, to secure a successful bid.


The Cabinet Member is requested to approve submission of a bid to the second round of Better Bus Area funding and to note the intended changes and possible implications of the change of administrative and funding arrangements for local bus services.

This report will include an annex containing details of commercial negotiations between the City of York Council of York Council and a potential operator which may be considered in private as it contains exempt information as described in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) in that the information relates to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

 

This item has been withdrawn from the Forward Plan as the report isno longer required as the criteria and scope of the BBAF round 2 is not as anticipated.
