Progress on the School Travel Planning process and associated safe routes to school initiatives
Purpose of report: The
report is provided for information and outlines the progress that
has been made in this area. The report also summarises the
government guidance informing the strategy to date and provides an
overview of government thinking for how this area of work is likely
to continue post April 2010. The report highlights work copleted on
and planned improvements to the city-wide network of safe routes to
school and other complementary measures.
Members are asked to: Acknowledge the contents of the report and
provide support for the partnership work being achieved by Council
officers and schools in York.
