Pedestrians
We the undersigned petition the council to totally pedestrianise all the main shopping streets in the city centre.
The roads are not suitable for motor traffic as it is not possible to walk on the narrow footpaths due to the volume of footfall. Some none disabled driver’s use it as a cut through and sometimes park anywhere. There must be small areas of land just outside this area to use for disabled car parks only. Disabled people often require wheel chairs or walking frames etc. This proposal would be safer for all including the disabled.
