Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Economy and Place
Decision status: Decision Made
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
Having considered the issues and consultation
results, the Acting Director agreed to the report’s
recommendations (i.e. that a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) should
be advertised covering the removal of the two parking spaces on the
south side of Monkgate, along with the conversion of an existing
residents only space on the north side to make just for use by
Guest House and Multiple Occupancy permit holders only, all as
shown in Annex B).
If objections are received, the Acting Director decided they should
be reported to a future Executive Member Decision Session for
Planning & Transport where public attendance and speaking on
the matter would be possible.
In consulting with residents further about the TRO, the Acting
Director agreed that the additional proposal to install cycle
parking racks in the two areas currently covered by the parking
spaces in question should be put forward for consultation with
residents. This should include sending out a photomontage to help
explain what is proposed.
In addition, it was also agreed that a, parking survey will be
carried out to assess the current usage levels of the existing
parking bays, and the results would be reported to the relevant
decision making body.
