Purpose:

Purpose of Report: To present a policy concerning the prevention and management of litter in the City. It will cover all relevant aspects including street cleansing, litter bins, education, prevention, supporting community action through Smarter York, and enforcement.

The Cabinet Member will be asked to comment on and approve the policy.

 

This decision will now be taken by the Cabinet Member at a public decision session to be held on 27 February 2014.

 

This decision has been deferred to March 2014. The decision will be taken at a public decision session on 11March 2014.

 

Decision:

Resolved:           That the Cabinet Member approved the Litter Policy as attached at annex 1 to the officers report.

 

Reason:              The policy will ensure cleanliness standards are maintained and continue increased ownership of the Smarter York agenda by both staff, residents and businesses.
