Taking Play Forward 2013 - A Refresh of York's Policy for Play

Decision Maker: Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People

Decision status: Decision Made

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

Purpose of Report: To provide details of significant progress made since the last policy and to highlight any key changes. The Cabinet Member is asked to approve the 2013 Taking Play Forward Policy.

The report will now be considered by the Cabinet Member in February to allow for further consultation and reflect on the outcomes from the Health Wellbeing Strategy.

The reason this report has been deferred to a March Cabinet Member decision is to allow for further consultation and reflect on the outcomes from the Health Wellbeing Strategy.

Decision:

RESOLVED:       That the Taking Play Forward Policy be approved.

REASON:           The policy provides a clear steer for play in the city and enables the authority, with partners, to develop play opportunities against defined priorities to ensure that limited resources are maximised.

Publication date: 26/03/2013
