Purpose:

Purpose of Report: The report details the proposed City of York coordinated admissions scheme (including proposed admission limits) which will cover admissions into Community and Voluntary Controlled schools during academic year 2014/15. Details of admissions policies proposed by Academy and Voluntary Aided schools are also included for consideration.

The report seeks approval for: 1. The City of York Council coordinated admission schemes and admissions policies for both primary and secondary schools for the 2014/15 academic year. 2. The proposed individual school maximum admission limits for the 2014/15 academic year. These approvals are required under Section 89(2) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Decision:

RESOLVED:       (i)      That the City of York co-ordinated schemes

and admissions policies for primary and secondary schools for the 2014/15 academic year, as set out in Annexes B-E and Q-S of the report, be approved.

 

                             (ii)      That the proposed individual school

maximum admission limits for the academic year beginning in September 2014, as set out in Annex A of the report, be approved.

 

REASON:           To meet the statutory requirements of the School

                             Admissions Code of Practice.
