Purpose of Report: To address the concerns as stated in the above petition and to offer members options in order for them to make a decision on actions to be taken.

The Cabinet Member is asked to consider the options available and approve the recommendations which follow CYC policies and procedures.

This decision will be taken by the Cabinet Member at a public decision session on 20 March 2014.

Resolved:  (i)      That the petition be noted.

(ii)      That Option 2 (Maintain the approved winter maintenance service for 2013/14) be approved.

Reason:     The revised policy is derived from consultation and best practice guidance and allows for routes and grit bin locations to be prioritised and ranked accordingly providing a safe, efficient and effective service.
