Purpose:

Purpose of Report: At the Council Budget setting meeting in February 2017, additional investment of £100,000 over two yeas into public health to support emotional resilience in young people was approved.


The report will present details of the programme of work to be carried out. It will outline a proposed approach and project plan to achieve the aims of this project; its timescales, stakeholders, budget, outcomes and evaluation. It will seek commencement approval to release funding and to begin the project.

The Executive Member is asked to : Approve the release of £100k funding over 2 years into the Public Health budget to achieve project goals.  To authorise commencement of this project.

Decision:

Resolved:  That the Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Health (in consultation with the Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People) approves the release of funding to support the provision of a youth peer mental heath support programme and a “ways into work” project.

 

Reason:     To support council plan objectives of focussing on the provision of frontline services and to release funding already allocated within the 2017/18 budget.
