Purpose:

Purpose of Report: This report will ask the Cabinet Member to consider work undertaken to date in response to a petition which was submitted by the Council on 11 December 2014. Further, the report will present recommendations for further assessment and, if deemed appropriate, interventions which could be made to improve the safety of pedestrians at this junction.

 

This report will be considered at a public Cabinet Member Decision Session on 19 February 2015.

Decision:

Resolved: That the Cabinet Member:

 

(i)           Instruct Officers to undertake an update of the feasibility study carried out in 2011.

 

                 Reason: To enable the impact of recent changes in the area to be established and considered in the development of options and to determine more accurate costs for any possible solutions.

 

(ii)          Instruct Officers to hold a site meeting with representatives of the local community.

 

                Reason:  To ensure that the concerns of residents in the area are fully understood during the development of options.
