Purpose:

Purpose of Report: The report will give clarity regarding overall poverty work being undertaken in the city and will highlight gaps in provision or suggest where services / projects may need to be consolidated. The report will conclude with suggestions as to where efforts and change should be focussed and will incorporate a work programme through to May 2015.

 

Members are asked to consider and agree the suggested work programme, including the allocation of funding to deliver improvements from EIF.



Decision:

RESOLVED:       That Cabinet agree to:

(i)           The vision for a poverty-free York.

(ii)          Funding of £100,000 from the Delivery and Innovation Fund.

(iii)        A work programme to develop longer term measures to address poverty in York.

(iv)        The proposed Governance arrangements as set out in paragraphs 29 to 31 of the report.

REASON:  To ensure effective delivery of the Protecting Vulnerable People objective in the Council Plan.
